It sounds like you are taking my comments as a critique. They weren't. I was just naming something true about his work (he relies upon a series of thinkers on what discipleship was in the post-biblical world to articulate a vision of discipleship) and noted that isn't what Willard did. I'm sure that many have been blessed by his work. That doesn't mean we can't attend to its contours and its potential directions, and that doesn't mean we shouldn't attend to the ways it differs from the folks he is reliant upon.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I have been surprised by how it has been misunderstood by some. I think there are a lot of folks who do pounce on Comer just because he is new and popular. It is unfortunate. We have very different views on these things, but I think he is benevolent and is helping to wake a lot of people up to deeper questions about life with God, and for that I am thankful.
